When you think of styling your outfit do you begin with tops, bottoms, accessories, or sneakers? 90% of the time people would say they start their outfit with sneakers. The global footwear market is a multi-billion U.S. dollar industry constantly progressing. Every year brands continue to find new ways to innovate sneakers to the next level. As for Nick Sisombath and his brand Collegium, it seems they are looking to reimagine the world of footwear.
The brand is inspired by ancient Rome’s collegium's who created a secret society that shared common interests. Sisombath offers a similar ideology for sneakerheads, as the brand is a, “secret society of product enthusiasts that share a common passion for quality and design.” You can expect nothing less than quality from Collegium as their sneakers and apparel are made in Italy. It’s not everyday you hear about a brand offering affordable prices with the promise of high quality materials.

The brand started back in 2015 with the release of the Pillar low and began making some noise with its release of the “Pillar Destroyer High”. The Destroyer was a major success as the sneaker was seen on Russell Westbrook and Tobias Harris. The sneaker has similar elements to the Jordan 1, Nike Terminator, and Nike Blazer.

Nonetheless, besides the high quality materials, Collegium is desirable amongst sneakerheads because of their ability to create a community. Sisombath's background as a fellow sneaker enthusiast perhaps is the reason why the brand is so likable. He understands the nuances of what sneakerheads used to be which is community, identity, and passion.
Collegium embodies what sneakerheads used to be, people sharing a love for sneakers.
